Christina Montgomery, special assistant to the vice president for research and innovation, brings over a decade of experience in higher education to her role. As executive liaison and a vital strategic link to Vice President Rao and his leadership team, she serves as a key operational partner in driving office-wide priorities. A solution-oriented connector, Christina balances meticulous detail with efficiency to elevate the organization's profile and operational success.
This work builds on a strong foundation established at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, where she was an integral member of the Advancement team - leading high-impact, high-visibility stewardship programs and events for principal donors, and at the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, where she coordinated development, programming and communications efforts to empower 300+ community organizations in the Charlottesville area.
Christina is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington, and holds a BA in political science with a minor in English literature. She is a Richmond native who enjoys frequent travel, following hockey and tennis, and keeping up with her beloved pack of rescue animals.
