Proposals and awards

The OVPRI Division of Sponsored Programs is Virginia Commonwealth University’s central office authorized to submit extramural proposals to and accept awards from all funding sources on behalf of the university.

The Division of Sponsored Programs is the official contact for the university on administrative award-related matters. We also negotiate confidentiality nondisclosure, material transfer and data use agreements.

Our system allows for paperless routing of all major project transactions.

Find your team

The Division of Sponsored Programs has established teams to serve our faculty better. Each department is assigned to a team that works on all aspects of sponsored programs administration for the department.

Our mission statement

The Division of Sponsored Programs is VCU’s central office for managing all externally sponsored projects. Our main objective is to assist faculty and staff in accomplishing the following university goals:

  1. Foster a scholarly climate that inspires creativity, a free and open exchange of ideas, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, freedom of expression and intellectual integrity.
  2. Expand the boundaries of knowledge and understanding through research, scholarship and creative expression in the sciences, arts, humanities and professional disciplines.

RES-ADM listserv

VCU research administrators are invited to subscribe to our listserv: RES-ADM. The listserv is a place to share information, ask questions about theory or practice and find out how others have solved the problem you are facing.

Our team uses the listserv as a means of getting information to the research community, including special program announcements, sponsor-issued changes and training opportunities.
