Michael Newsome serves as Senior Associate Vice President for Research Finance and Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. A graduate of Virginia Union University and a Certified Research Administrator (CRA), he provides strategic leadership for the financial and administrative operations that support VCU’s research enterprise. With a career rooted in higher education and a passion for public service, Mr. Newsome is dedicated to strengthening research infrastructure, ensuring compliance, and creating opportunities that advance discovery and innovation across disciplines.
